Her father was a police lieutenant and imbued in her a military attitude in life. Furthermore, Marlene was known in school for her "bedroom eyes" and her first affairs were at this stage in her life. Hmmm, looks like she was a fast learner to me. She entered the cabaret scene in 1920's Germany. In 1924, she married and, although she and Rudolf Sieber lived together only five years, they remained married until his death. I sorry, but I don't know when Rudolf died, because it was not mentioned in the article. Therefore, it can be said she may have practiced loyalty, but what if he died five years after they married? Then this would resort to becoming a debatable issue. She was in over a dozen silent films with increasing important roles. She was seen in a Berlin cabaret by Josef von Sternburg and, after a screen test, captured the role as a cabaret singer in the Blue Angel (1930) (and became von Sternburg's lover). With the success of this film von Sternburg immediately took her to Hollywood, introducing her to the world in Morocco (1930). Here we see another foreign star finding her mass appeal and success in the USA. Her trademarks were her legs, and low sensual voice. Hmmm, is a low voice sexy on a female? Maybe so to some people who need to be domination from their partner. She sucked lemon wedges between takes to keep her mouth muscles tight. Her make-up man said she kissed so hard that she needed a new coat of lipstick after every kiss. Once said that her favorite meal was hot dogs and champagne. Everyone knows ketchup and hot dogs go hand in hand...

Throughout her career Dietrich had an unending string o' affairs, some short-lived, some lasting decades. She also had an affair wiff Mercedes de Acosta who wuz Greta Garbo's lover. Her last great passion, when she wuz in her 50's, appears ta gots been actor Yul Brynner, but her love life continued into her 70's. She counted George Bernard Shaw an John F. Kennedy among her conquests, an dat boil on mah ass.
